    Artist Statement

I am a London-based artist and filmmaker who works across video, photography and sound. My practice is informed by theatre, performance and documentary, exploring ideas of fragmentation in relation phenomenological experience and memory. I enjoy breaking elements apart and re-forming them to generate new meanings and structures, charting the trajectory of the processed material. My work is rooted in a desire to translate intensities of experience, making work that often uses rhythm, and oppositions of presence and absence to explore this.

Having collaborated in the fields of theatre and live visual performance for over ten years, space and performance have become important aspects of my work. I am interested in the boundaries between performer and audience, artist and viewer and how this may be played with through the arrangement of objects and image within space.

My work has been shown in exhibitions in Latvia, Romania, UK, Ireland and Lithuania. I have been awarded Arts Council funding to create a new work and have participated in a number of international residencies.

Having worked closely with UK Arts organisations as a filmmaker, facilitator and project manager, I have wide-ranging experience in working in the creative industries. Organisations include the Barbican, Southbank Centre, Battersea Arts Centre, Fuel Theatre, Paddington Arts, Creative Partnerships and the University for the Creative Arts.
