Building connections within the built environment

Published: 20 November 2015

The project will explore a new dimension of development within the built environment by supporting artists to work within or comment on the design, planning and construction process to influence and create a shared vision with the architects, developers and future residents.

Our ambition is to shift perceptions of what artist can bring to the process and thus create new opportunities.  By removing artists of their labels and championing them as creative thinkers, critical friends, or maker of things, then we can move beyond the narrow perceptions of what an artist is, and ask how can artists help unlock creativity to embed and deliver better experiences?

In the evolution of Axisweb we are keen to support and champion new approaches where artists are given the opportunity to deploy their unique skills and creativity in an effective way.  Uncovering and sharing those subtle effects caused by engaging artists is crucial if we are to inspire and convince others of the value artists can offer.

As a connector we aim to bring people and partners together through a collaborative programme to develop, showcase and share the ideas and talent of artists.

If you think you might be interested in working with an artist or you are involved in a project you would like to share then please get in touch by emailing Mark at [email protected]
